Writers Block

Ali Owens is an author, speaker, and enthusiastic self-love advocate with a passion for empowering others to emerge as their authentic, unapologetic selves. These are all metaphors I’ve used to describe what inevitably happens during any large scale creative undertaking–the making a record, for instance. It’s that barren, dusty, treacherous middle expanse filled with nagging depression and gnawing self-doubt that the Muse or God or Whomever places in our path to test our faith.

So I’m faced with what is a common question for aspiring musicians: when and how can I find the time and energy to be creative?

Sometimes we write songs that suck. It’s part of the process. The more you write, the better the odds that you’ll find a keeper. Think of it methodically for a little while.
